There are many risk factors for a stroke that many do not even know about. There are many dangerous things out there that can make life hard for anyone that is high risk for a stroke. You have to watch these things and take the necessary precautions where you can to make your life better and more manageable.

 

High blood pressure is one of the most important risk factors for a stroke. You need to know your blood pressure on a regular basis and make sure that you are getting it controlled if it is too high or too low. It should be lower than 120/80 mm HG.

Diabetes is a very treatable problem but it is still going to increase persons' chances of having a stroke. People that have diabetes may often have high blood pressure as well and are sometimes over weight. This will increase their risk of stroke even more. If you are someone that has diabetes you need to follow the doctor's order and pay attention to what they are trying to help you with to make sure that stroke is not part of your life.

Heart disease is going to give a person a much higher risk for a stroke. Atrial fibrillations are going to cause an irregular heartbeat and it is a good risk or a stroke. A heart attack is a major cause of a death among many of the people that do survive a stroke.

A TIZ is a mini stroke for some that is going to last a short time and will go away without causing permanent damage to the body. This is very important to see these signs of a TIA and reduce the risk of having a major stroke and having further complications. It is very important to get help if you think that you are having a mini stroke so that you can get the medical treatment that you need to keep this situation under control.

Carotid artery disease is in your neck supply of blood to the brain. This artery can be made smaller by the fatty build up of plaque and may become blocked by a blood clot and cause a stroke of some kind.

If you have any of these risk factors you need to make serious changes to your lifestyle. You have to get ready to make the decision to get healthy and make your life last as long as you can. See your doctor regularly so that you can have the supervision that is needed to keep your health under control the way that it should be. And eat a good diet and get plenty of exercise so that you are keeping your body healthy and in good shape for the life ahead of you.
